Bowen-Dryden Bridal Photoshoot - Behind the scenes

MEP_5925.jpg

This absolute stunner of a shoot took place at the incredible Moroccan courtyard at Port Lympne Mansion in Kent. Bowen - Dryden Couture Bridal had some truly beautiful pieces, paired with some exquisite jewellery by Marco Bicego supplied by Fitzgerald Jewellers Canterbury, and shoes supplied by Kookychu Shoes.

The very talented Samuel Wiles was shooting and Luke Reene was styling this fabulous shoot. Assisting us was Aimee, who was documenting all the behind the scenes footage.

We decided on two different Make-Up looks, which were designed to be built on as we changed outfits and compliment the two different Hair looks.

Look One

This look was sheer and dewy incorporating nude tones on the eyes and lips and keeping a soft dewy cream blush.

Skin, Prime & Base

Emily has amazing skin but I always prep the skin prior to any Make-Up application. I cleansed the skin using the Frances Prescott Tri Balm, which gently exfoliates and really helps to lift the overall complexion. I then toned the skin using Nars Multi-Action Hydrating Toner.

Becca’s Skin Love Glow Elixir Serum was applied to the skin before moisturising. This serum is packed with skin care benefits to help hydrate and promote a healthy glow. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream was used to moisturise, this amazing product smells incredible and provides the perfect base for a really dewy finish.

Becca’s First Light Primer was used on the T-Zone to help brighten the complexion. I left this to settle for a couple of minutes, then applied Marc Jacobs Dew Drops to the cheek bones using a duo fibre brush and my fingertips to really warm the product through & blend into the skin.

I used two shades in the Armani Silk Foundation to keep the face from appearing too flat and used the slightly lighter shade on the places of highlight and the slightly darker on the places where we would naturally contour. I did not use a powder to set the foundation. I applied a Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Uber Beige, using my fingertips and a blender brush, I blended over the apples of the cheeks, gently tapering up the cheek bone. The trick was to really blend this product to create the ‘barely-there’ nudey flush. A little of the Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Balm was blended out over the cheek bones to blend the two products together.

Eyes

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow in Bone was used all over the eye as the base. I then created a subtle cut crease using a soft smudge brown kohl pencil, and using a brown matte shadow from the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette I built up the cut crease. A matte baby pink was used all over the eyelid to make the brown pop.

Benefit Black BADgal Bang Mascara was used with a few Ardell Indivudual Lashes. Eyebrows were filled in with Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift in shade Grace Kelly and groomed upwards with brow gel.

Highlight

With a big fluffy bleeding brush I lightly dusted Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone all over the cheek bones, temples, bridge of the nose and the cupids bow of the lip, this just really helps the face from looking flat under camera.

Lips

I mixed Mac’s Lip Colour Blankety with Tom Fords Blush Nude to create the ideal nude for Emily. Marc Jacobs Lip Liner in Honey Bun was used to line the lips.

Look Two

  • Enhanced Contour Using Tom Ford’s Ultimate Bronzer in Terra

  • Swept Mac’s Powder Bush in Peaches over the apples of the cheeks

  • Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Pink Guava was used to create the statement lip

  • I kept the Make-Up looking fresh by misting Mac’s Goldlite Fix + over Emily’s face throughout the day

Hair

The hair was styled using Prep Spray by Bumble & Bumble and then set into a hollywood wave using Bumble and Bumble Grooming Creme.

The hair was then styled into a ponytail & then the final style was a low bun. My hairspray of choice is always Loreal Tecni Art Air Fix
